All members and friends are invited to come to our annual Star Party on January 6 at 6pm. Bring food to share and a few twigs from your Christmas decorations. We’ll take down the Christmas flowers and greens (thanks to Laura Thompson and everyone who worked to make the church so beautiful for Christmas) and have a small fire in honor of Old Christmas. In 1752, the calendar was changed and eleven days were lost which meant that Christmas Day moved from January 6 to December 25. The Orthodox church still celebrates Christmas on January 7. We’ll also crown the kings or queens of Epiphany and bring the magi and camels to the crèche before we put it away for another year. According to European custom, we’ll also bless the church lintel.
And then you get to take home a Star Word of inspiration for your year. Altogether a fun evening with friends, so please plan to come!
