30th Anniversary Celebration
Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves will celebrate a special service with us to commemorate our 30th anniversary and also to bless the completed Great Room, Corner Classroom and Bathrooms. There will be a reception afterwards. Everyone is welcome.
Judy Gilbert of Stephen Ministries to share at both St. Ben’s services April 30
Judy Gilbert, a Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, will briefly share April 30 at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services about starting a Stephen Ministry training program at St. Benedict’s and other parishes in the deanery. Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to provide high-quality Christian care to people going through tough times. St. Ben’s Kicks Off Los Osos Community Dinners Starting May 1
The St. Benedict’s Homeless Outreach Team is partnering with a number of organizations and churches to bring community dinners to Los Osos every other Monday at 5 p.m. starting May 1. The dinners, planned through the Los Osos subcommittee of the Los Osos Community Coalition, will be served at Trinity United Methodist Church for people in need of a meal and a place to learn about organizations offering services. Special guest speaker Hua Anwa on Earth Sunday
Please join us as we celebrate Earth Sunday with a creation-focused liturgy and a special First Nation speaker, Hua Anwa. Hua, who is a dear friend of Karin Cake, is a Metis Elder, a teacher of mixed Mayan and Cherokee descent and an adopted Chumash who leads ceremonies on the Central Coast. Los Osos Cares Town Hall Meeting
Several different groups and many individuals have expressed concern about the increased number of homeless people who are camping out in Los Osos in cars, RVs and under bushes. This meeting will draw on the experience of those who are offering services such as safe parking, warming shelters and community dinners in other communities.
