Music is a very important part of our worship and common life at St. Benedict’s. We have a small, talented choir which attracts professional as well as avocational musicians. The choir typically performs one Sunday per month, but soloists and small groups often sign or play instruments on other Sundays.
The style of music is quite eclectic, ranging from classical well-beloved songs and hymns to those composed in the twentieth century as part of the liturgical revival.
John Cribb, our Music Director and organist, has been leading church music his whole life and is well-known in local musical circles both as an organist, an accompanist and a music director. When she is not singing, Dr. Ann Lucas, professor of Music at Allan Hancock College, accompanies the choir.
New members are always welcome; rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday evenings.
